The World War one cannot be adequately understood and documented without reflecting on the systematic category of gender (Shenk 2005). World War one occurred between 1914 and 1918. Even though the war started in Europe, it eventually implicated countries as far away as Japan and the United States and (Campbell, 2004).
In my research I argue that pacifism emerged during the war motivated activities of newly created organizations, publishing that were edited by women and conferences (In Hämmerle, 2014).

We find that as the chief historian of female’s work, Gail Braybon, argues that, for many female the conflict was a indisputably invigorating experience that made them feel valuable as citizens. Nevertheless (In Ritzenhoff, 2014), this gave them the wages and the freedom only men had benefited from so far.
