Marine biology is simply the study of ocean life as well as the life in other saltwater environments. Marine biology has several branches, which include molecular biology and genetics, anatomy and physiology, ecology and evolution, and zoology and botany among many others. This field of study only concentrates on the marine life rather than terrestrial life. As such, marine biologist study everything ranging from large marine creatures like the whales, sharks, and dolphins to the smallest marine creatures like the larval fish, copepods, and the microbes of the microbial loop.
