Texas communities from dietary where deer was hunted for meat, dressing where the people dressed in attires made from its hide, pottery where pottery products were pulverized using bones from the deer, arts where rock arts had figures of the deer, rituals and beliefs where the deer were placed in the cemeteries to signify life after death and association with social class and hence the need to protect and preserve the animal.
