Strategies used to promote communication development in young children at risk for autism spectrum disorder
The Early Childhood Special Education program (ESCE) offers special support and services to families with children experiencing developmental delays or diagnosed with developmental delays. These services are offered to children that have significant symptoms in the developmental delay which in this paper is Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Early intervention is important in managing ASD because during early life the brain is developing rapidly and is shaped by interactions and experiences.
Children learn through everyday activities and routines. Additionally, intervention is useful in promoting developmental progress in children with developmental disabilities or delays or disabilities. Then, this paper focuses on various strategies used to support communication development in young children at risk for ASD. Additionally, an annotated bibliography on teaching young exceptional children will be provided. Lastly, this paper will draw a conclusion and recommendation on the topic.
