What is social networking? It is a collection of single individuals that join specific groups much like a small community, or in the case of a company like Facebook, or a large city.

Social networking is where people from all parts of the world meet on the screens of their smart phones, computers and other devices, on the fiber optic cables of the internet (Partridge, 2011). The internet is filled with millions of individuals who want to meet others, assemble and share their news and experiences about business, current events, cooking, sports, friendships, and even help finding employment.

There are as many topics that one can find on the internet, which affects him/her directly and indirectly. In the past eight years, social networking has taken off, but still can be hard for newcomers to use and understand.
