Significance of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem to Muslims, Christians, and Jews.

Located at the Temple Mount, the Dome of the Rock (translated as Qubbat As-Sakhrah in Arabic) is a religious shrine located in the famous city of Jerusalem. Initially, the Dome of the Rock was completed with orders from Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Malik in 691 CE at the time of the Second Fitna. Currently, the Dome of the rock stands as one of the best yet oldest masterpieces of Islamic architecture.

Conversely, to the Muslims, the Dome of the Rock is the place where Prophet Muhammad prayed and ascended to heaven. Therefore, the Dome of the Rock was profoundly important to the Muslims, Christians and the Jews.
