Response essay, Badges & Curves
Theater has been used for a long time to describe and critique real life situations. Play writes have been able to study their lives an times and from them develop works of art responding to the behavior they observe. This paper is a response to two such works. It aims at showing that the plays “I Don’t Have to Show You No Stinking Badge” by beloved play write Luis Valdes and Josefina Lopez’s “Real Women Have Curves” do in fact tell important truths about contemporary life and ethnicity.

They also show the struggles that racial minorities have for centuries experienced in a bid to have better lives than they did in their home countries. Josefina Lopez’s “Real Women Have Curves” is however seen to be more concise and direct in bringing out its message. The message or truth in Luis Valdes’ “I Don’t Have to Show You No Stinking Badge” has to be derived.
