Practicum/Field Experience for an Ell Classroom:The English Language Learning (ELL) classroom that was observed incorporated several strategies designed to effectively differentiate instruction to make the ELL services effective. In this reflection, the Structured English Immersion (SEL) strategies that were observed are discussed, along with how these strategies enable the educator to accommodate the needed of student with diverse cultural differences with respect to learning English.

A combination of these strategies was observed to be a fruitful mix that propels the ELL students towards higher levels of proficiency in the English language.

One SEI strategy that the educator incorporated in delivering ELL instruction is the establishment of an English language objective. The observed instructor had a clearly crafted language objective aimed at helping the ELL students in connecting directly to the content objectives of the lesson. Indeed, the observation made on the lesson plan is that greater emphasis is placed on the adherence to the listening, reading, and speaking and writing practices as stipulated in the English language objective.
