Natural selection is an important process that has aided a lot in the survival of species. The process of natural selection deals with how some of the traits that are biologically determined become more manifested or less manifested in an organism as it adapts to the environment in which it lives in. The theory of natural selection is associated with Charles Darwin, who wanted to compare the process of natural selection with the process of artificial selection.

Through natural selection animals have been able to survive in conditions that are extremely harmful. The contribution of natural selection towards prevention of extinction of species by ensuring that animals that have the most successful traits can spread traits to future offsprings cannot be undermined.
