Patriot Act

Last October, the USA Patriot Act was signed by President Bush, the 342-page bill targeted terrorism, into law (Ball, H. (2004). Though its design was ostensibly in response to the activities of September 11th, a majority of the provision by the bill have more impact on the innocent lives of the Americans, rather than the terrorists.

With this law’s presence, many Americans should take caution in the statement or words they search. Under this law, people are not only at a risk of becoming as terrorist victims, but they also possess a risk losing their freedom of speech and rights to privacy.
