The film, Money-Driven Medicine, offers an overview that tackles the problems with the United States’ extremely expensive health care system. The film goes beyond the reform in health insurance to talk about future teething troubles that might take place as the country attempts to continue having best quality care, while still keeping the expenditures and undesirable values low in a safe way.

The benefit of increased patient participation in decision-making depends on the doctor presenting the choices of treatment in a comprehensive manner as well as honestly. Financial motivations likely skew the way doctors offer these options. I like the film because it does a respectable job of clarifying some of the difficulties the U.S. healthcare system goes through.
