Organizational Policy Addressing Mobile Phones

Mobile phones have made people more connected. However, studies have shown that phones could be adversely affecting people’s private lives and even their ability to work. It has been said that mobile or cell phones have enabled us to remain in touch; they have also started to alter the way in which we conduct relationships and even how we communicate (Esharenana, 2010). Unlike any other invention, mobile phones have become an extension or part of our bodies; people are now take mobile phones everywhere, enabling the devices to invade both their private and job time.

Any violation of the organizational policy on phone use should be reported to the relevant authority such as the IT department or human resources. Violating the policy or any of its principles should lead to disciplinary actions such as fines, suspensions, withholding of bonuses, and in extreme cases, termination of employment.
