Neurotransmitter Production: Pharmaceutical companies around the globe have made it their objective to make humanity dependant on their products for monetary gains. Society is extensively overmedicated for no good reason.

One reason people seek medication is to enhance neurotransmitter production to facilitate brain functions. Research has however showed that the key to sufficient neurotransmitter production is good eating habits.

This paper will explain the role of healthy eating in neurotransmitter production together with the role of neurotransmitters in regulation of brain function. Neurotransmitters are required in just the right amount for the brain to function properly.

There exist two classes of neurotransmitters, excitatory and inhibitory. Serotonin and GABA are the inhibitory and they function to make people feel good, and they regulate sleep and self esteem. When depleted, the person will be find to suffer from insomnia and depression.

Dopamine is an example of the excitatory class of neurotransmitters. It is responsible for keeping one alert, for focus and memory. If depleted, one may suffer from fatigue, low libido and a radical decrease in short term memory. (Levite 2012).

Neurotransmitters are very important in ones psychological health. They regulate brain function. This paper has illustrated that medication is not always necessary to facilitate neurotransmitter production. Diet is also key in facilitating the same.
