Mission, Goals and Performance Management

An organization’s mission and vision statements and its goals are critical elements of the organizational strategies in the organization. Most established organizations develop mission and vision statements that serve as their foundational guides in establishing the company’s objectives and goals. The organization then develops tactical and strategic plans for achieving the set objectives.

In conclusion, it is important that the organization’s mission, vision, goals and strategies be considered when making decisions about performance management system designs. This is because performance management system designs are about translating an organization’s goals into the desired results (Aubry & Hobbs, 2011). As such, performance management system designs focus not only on an individual employee, but also on teams, processes, programs, as well as the organization as a whole.
