Main Street Glen Carbon IL:Carbon Glen village is a small village located in Madison County, the state of Illinois United States of America. According to 2010 census it has a population of about 12,934 people. The land was formally known as the Goshen Settlements, with the first permanent settler being Colonel Judy Samuel after being given the land as a token of appreciation as 100 acres military grant.

Lastly in preservation of its history the Village of Glen Carbon has established a Zoning and building Department to enforce the quality standards they require in construction of new buildings within the limits of the Village. It enforces and administers the state of Illinois building codes and that of the village.
