Love in L.A
While the stories ‘love in L.A and ‘a good man is hard to find’ have many differences, they are also similar in that the most dominant characters in them are of questionable morals and character. The most dominant male characters in the two stories lack the moral character that the society would deem as good. They are both unscrupulous and tricky. In the story ‘a good man is hard to find’, the dominant male character is the escaped convict leader of the misfits. The main male character in ‘love in L.A is Jake. The two men are shown not be bound in their actions by the societal expectations of morality and good behavior.

From reading the two books, I have reinforced my own views which are similar to those of the two authors that life is not predetermined but goodness is still a virtue that we should aspire to. Religion is society’s way of imparting on her members the values of goodness and as such if you are good, then in most instances you are also practicing society’s standards of morality and what the religions advocate. The two stories have many differences but, they are also similar in that the most dominant characters in them are of questionable morals and character.
