A large number of people with impairments acquired at birth, through a disease or an accident. Other disabilities are associated with aging. There are four types of impairment among human beings including hearing, visual and physical.
Visual impairment represents people with poor vision, those with no perception of light at all and those who see the light but not shape. An individual is referred to as legally blind when their visual acuity low or worse after correction.

Their marriage and parenthood life is also affected as a result of numerous factors that affect disabled individuals reducing their chance of marrying and isolation. Disabled people are excluded from social venues such as clubs reducing their chances of meeting potential partners(Janus, 2009).
There are measures undertaken to ensure disabled people have an equal opportunity to non disabled people. These measures include education policy and affirmative policy in the work place.
