Leadership

For many decades, scholars addressing attempting to answer: what is leadership? Have struggled with each writing his or own of ideas. Leadership is a comprehensive and crucial subject that has different ideas and terminologies all aimed at defining it meaning. Despite all the different available definitions, there are number of concepts that are widely and unanimously accepted by all people as the one that precisely define who a leader is (Pinnington, 2011). In most cases, leadership is perceived as a process through which a person (leader) guides and influences other people to achieve a given objective. A leader can direct group of people or organization in a way that makes them more coherent and cohesive.

From the theories discussed, it is clear that effective leadership is perceived differently based on different situations. Some theories may not provide concrete concept on leadership subject. For instance, although there are some innate traits that people possess and make them leaders, good leaders can also be made by learning and acquiring necessary skills and qualities. It is also worth noting that innate personal traits and learned skills complement each other. Finally, leadership can be summarized as a social process that influences people to achieve goal or target.
