Juvenile Justice

According to various research and data collected in the United States indicates that cases of juvenile offenders, gun use amongst juveniles, and school shootings have been on the rise in the two decades and issue contains to increase. According to abc News, Charles Williams, a 14 years old boy, was sentenced to life imprisonment for afatal shooting spree at Santana High School. Lionel Tate was also sentenced to life imprisonment for killing his 6 years old playmate.

This is because of the mode through whichthe juvenile offenders are handled. Even though various research have indicated that the current judicial system treats the juvenile offenders like little adult criminals, little have been dome to address the issue. Therefore, research need to be carried out to identify the weaknesses in the juvenile judicial system and what should be done to give the system more efficiency in combating this problem.
