IT security:The number of cyber security breaches targeted against multibillion-dollar companies particularly in the area of retail, has now reached a point where ignoring the likelihood of an attack, however small, is simply unimaginable. Given the number and nature of the recent prominent attacks, including those against Home Depot, Target, and JP Morgan, their financial implications are easy to predict. With today’s technological advancements and the risks of cyber-attacks, one would expect large companies to invest heavily on their IT security; however, this has not been the case.

Corporations can also benefit greatly by carrying out security audits; this is because audits are key in preventing and minimizing the impacts of cyber-attacks (Lee & Trim, 2014). Security audits carried out by professional penetration testers attempt to break into a company from both the inside and the outside; this helps in identifying and fixing of any holes that may exist within an organization security.
