The authors of this article tried to answer the questions of whether young children appreciate intentional target of social behaviors such as gaze. The researchers carried out an investigation on a number of children so as to understand whether the children understands social gaze among third party. The researchers identified that children aged nine months old did not have a strong ability to recognize a social gaze, and they ended up discriminating people.

Although the experiment may be classified as a success, there are various issues in the methodology that I would like to point out. At first, the researchers used very simple methods in the research. The researchers used videos, and they watched the reactions of the children. This method is very simple to justify a conclusion that children start coding gazes at the age of ten months. This makes one to doubt the results of the experiments. I expected that the researchers to use complex methods that would convince the reader that the results of the experiments are valid and not guesses.
