The movie Erin Brockovich tells a true story about social justice. The film describes one of the largest direct action lawsuits in the United States. Julia Roberts plays Erin Brockovich, a single and financially troubled mother of three children. Fortunately, she convinces her lawyer to offer her a job as compensation for losing her case. Despite minimal experience in law, Erin strives to work in order to provide for her family. While working on a pro-bono case, Erin comes across a case involving Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). The billion dollar company stands to pay a settlement of $333 million to the plaintiffs should Erin win the case against them. As the movie progresses, the facts of the case are revealed to the viewer and PG&E emerges as an “evil” corporation that lacks social responsibility.
