Engaging parents and families to help promote academic and social development: Schools and school districts in the United States have realized the significance of the role played by parents and families in promoting students’ academic and social development. In that respect, school counselors, principals, and superintendents have focused on diversity-responsive.
Plans and strategies to collaboratively involve parents and families in the promotion of students’ academic and social development. This research paper looks into the ways in which a school counselor in the New York City area can engage parents and families to help promote the academic and social development of students from different multicultural backgrounds.

The merit of such a network is that it shall assure timely feedback from both sides, thus enhancing promptness by allowing the counselor to prepare and schedule for therapy sessions and other services beforehand. This is said, keeping in mind that privacy and promptness are two crucial elements in the process of delivering services to satisfy the needs of students with multicultural diversities.
For this cause, school counselors, planning to implement the approaches discussed above, need to work closely with their respective school leaders to ensure that this is done with the desired effectiveness, all for students’ academic and social benefit.
