Cyber warfare refers to the actions that are taken by a nation or a state in an attempt to penetrate another nation’s networks or computer for the malicious purpose of causing disruption or damage. In fact, cyberspace has been described by The Economist as the fifth domain of war. However, cyber warfare involves more than just two states. It involves other organizations such as companies, terrorist groups, ideological or political extremists, hacktivists, as well as other transnational criminal organizations.

. Therefore, this substantially limits the effectiveness of the military cyber weapons. Subsequently, cyber warfare if launched on very critical military operations can greatly compromise the mission and may lead to total failure of the operation. Worse still, such cyber warfare can also compromise the lives of the military personnel who might unfortunately lose their lives in the line of duty.
