Developing IT policy and Knowledge Management: An IT policy is basically a guiding principle or a plan for an organization, business or political party with the aim of influencing and determining decisions made. These policies should solidly built and carefully implemented. They should be reviewe regularly and constantly updated(Friedman, 2008).
Every organization is different and the methods used to accomplish certain objectives may vary from one environment to another(Tyler, 1866). This means that when it comes to creating and executing an IT policy, your needs will not be met by simply depending on the first approach only.

Using KM it should involve technology in the daily activities inside the organization, which are some of the policy making examples. Managing knowledge leads to the success of an organization as it enhances the decision making process(Babcock, 2004).
