Cybercrimes.

Cybercrimes have been identified as the new breed of crimes in the 21st century, which are committed using computers, or are otherwise associated to computers and the worldwide web. The origin of cybercrimes can be traced to the rising dependence of individuals on computers and cyber space in modern life.

Today almost everything is dependent on computers, software and the internet. Accordingly, the increased capacities and accessibility of information systems have resulted in increased vulnerability among users to a range of cybercrimes.

Cybercrimes are classified into three main categories; including crimes targeting another computer; crimes where a specific computer is use to commit a crime; and crimes in which a computer is implicate incidentally, or is an auxiliary in a criminal act.

Notably, in the case of Ms. Wolf, it was the FBI that was taske with investigating the incidents. In retrospect, while agreeing that the available legal mechanisms to address hacking and computer intrusions in general, I feel that more information should be made available to the public regarding eliminating the vulnerability to hacking.

While the public is aware of the risks inherent in their use of computer systems, in many cases, they do not take these risks seriously and fail to take adequate precautionary measures. As such, the public requires extensive information regarding how to protect their appliances and devices. As well as passwords and confidential information from hackers.
