Cultural assessment:Families differ and they vary based on the cultural factors that influence them. Values, beliefs, experiences, environment and other social cultural factors determine how each family behaves. Unlike in the traditional society where a family comprised of father mother and children, today families are diverse and unique in their setting all because of societal changes.

The Help brings out family problems and experiences that are out of the ordinary. Family problems in the film are combined with injustices and prejudices against the minority in society. Gender inequality and discrimination of women affects family in The Help. Black women and their families are discriminated because society did not value them as people but as their servants.
