CRITICAL HEALTH ISSUES

Despite the heavily publicized cases of doctors acting in ways that would show poor values towards their profession, the majority abide by the values of their profession. Doctors are also governed by their respective professional bodies which do a lot of enforcement to ensure that doctors do not act in ways unworthy of the profession. There is the occasional exception to the norm where doctors disgrace their profession and act in ways that indicate a disregard for values towards their profession but there is a general respect by most doctors for values towards their profession.

Doctors need to learn to respect the cultures of those they treat despite their own opinions. Doing so would make the practice of medicine more people centered and not the cold and clinical affair it sometimes is. A human touch helps to set the patient at ease and makes the whole process of treatment easier for both the patient and the doctors.
