Compare/Contrast the Pagan and Christian Qualities in Beowulf:: Individuals have the privilege of choosing the religion that they want to follow. There have been a lot of debates on the similarities and differences between paganism and Christianity.
Beowulf is one of the characters who seemed to be influenced by paganism, and this paper will lay an extensive focus on the comparison of Christianity and paganism according to Beowulf. During the creation, Beowulf got influences from pagan rituals and ideas. As time went on, the emergence of Christian ideas blends to form a mosaic.

Pagans believe in existence of many gods. They believe that there are different gods that control fate in the world. There existed a Greek, Celtic and roman pantheons. In addition, paganism is never considered as a monotheistic religion as it is the case of Islam and Christianity. On the other hand, Christians believe in one God.
Christians believe that God is the most superior being who controls the universe.In conclusion, a number of similarities and differences can be drawn from Beowulf. At first, paganism is not a monotheistic religion like Christianity. Christianity does not believe in taking vengeance like paganism. Christian’s virtues such as self-sacrifice are also eminent in paganism.
