Case Management

Case management in nursing is an approach in the nursing profession that has the objectives and responsibility for ascertaining that quality health care is given to a patient/client in a framework that is both effective as well as efficient (Phaneuf 2008). The concept of case management is premised on the philosophy that when the patient reaches optimal recovery or well, every stakeholder benefits. The stakeholders in question include the support system, the patient him/herself and the health care delivery systems (Phaneuf 2008). Case management has different definitions from the different institutions.

In conclusion case management in nursing is just as crucial as it necessary since it enables the client to have the best quality care that is personalized and cost effective. This is because case managers are tasked with leadership, roles, and nurses’ obligation, close but professional interaction with patients and other medical personnel as well the responsibility of ensuring clear pathways in the treatment.
