Carrie: The musical: This musical is an adaptation of Stephen King’s book titled ‘Carrie’. The book and its musical adaptation are of the horror genre. The adaptation was done by Lawrence Cohen, who did the writing. He is ably assisted by Dean Pitchford on the lyrics of the musical and Michael Gore on the music. The storyline is written around the life of a teenage high school girl who is rather awkward. The girl’s life is further complicated by her mother who is a religious fanatic and the fact that she possesses a telekinetic ability. The girl’s awkwardness makes her the brunt of cruel teenage treatment by her fellow classmates especially the exceedingly cruel Chris.
