Can medication cure obesity in children?:Obesity is a condition where the body accumulates excessive fats to the point that it has negative effect to the health of an individual. These negative effects include reduced life expectancy and increased chances of getting health conditions. Obesity has been on the rise in recent years. It is because of the lifestyle of people in the modern societies.

Drugs such as orlistat (Xenical) and statin have been approved for treatment of obesity in adolescents older that twelve years. Surgeries are also used to treat obesity in children. Even though they may be effective, medication cure of obesity is not recommended as ways of curing obesity in children. They are not very effective and might have negative consequences on the health of a child.
